Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Fried Bologna Sandwiches
- Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on one side of each of two slices of bread. Lay thick slices of fresh tomato on the mayonnaise side, followed by a slice of cheddar cheese.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat for about 2 minutes. Cut an 'X' in the center of each bologna slice to prevent curling. Fry them for 3-4 minutes until the edges turn caramelized and crispy.
- Layer 3 slices of the crispy bologna on top of the prepared tomato and cheese base. Top with the other slice of bread, mayonnaise side down, and press gently to meld the ingredients.
- Return the sandwich to the skillet, adjusting the heat to medium. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, until the bread is golden brown and toasted.
