For the Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Can be substituted with vegetable oil if necessary.
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter Essential for a creamy texture.
  • ½ cup white cooking wine Replace with chicken broth for a non-alcoholic version.
  • 4 cloves minced garlic Fresh garlic gives the best results.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Fresh juice is recommended for maximum zing.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning Can substitute with dried oregano and basil.
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese Add for savory finish.

Equipment

  • Skillet

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 pound of uncooked peeled and deveined shrimp and sauté for about 2-3 minutes or until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Reduce the heat to medium and add 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter to the skillet. Allow it to melt completely, then add 4 cloves of minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Pour in ½ cup of white cooking wine and the juice of 1 lemon into the skillet. Stir well and let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes until reduced by half.
  4. Sprinkle in 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning and stir. Return the shrimp to the skillet, tossing to coat them with the sauce. Sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and optionally sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
