Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish optional

Method

  1. Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
  3. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty.
  4. Cook the patties on the grill or skillet for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  5. During the last minute of cooking, spoon marinara sauce over each patty and sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Cover to melt the cheese.
  6. While the cheese is melting, lightly toast the hamburger buns in olive oil on a separate skillet or grill.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing each cheesy patty on a bun and adding extra marinara sauce if desired. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if using.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious pizza burgers!
