Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Sift together the all-purpose flour, Dutch cocoa powder, baking soda, and baking powder in a mixing bowl.
  3. In a large bowl, combine melted unsalted butter, creamy peanut butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Blend until smooth.
  4. Add in the vanilla extract, whole egg, and additional egg yolk. Whisk until fully incorporated.
  5. Gradually add the sifted dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
  7. Scoop approximately 2½ tablespoons of cookie dough, place a mini peanut butter cup in the center, and shape into a ball.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 8 minutes, removing them slightly underbaked.
  9. Reshape cookies with a round cutter immediately after removing from the oven.
  10. Let the cookies cool on the pan for approximately 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
