- Combine oats, minced onion, and spices in a bowl. Add the egg or flaxseed meal with water, and incorporate any grated vegetables. Let it rest for at least 10 minutes.

- Shape the mixture into patties about ½-inch thick. Cook in the hot skillet for 4-5 minutes until golden brown.
