Ingredients
  

  • 1 box 15.25 oz chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 can 16 oz chocolate frosting
  • 1 cup chocolate chips for coating
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil for coating
  • Lollipop sticks

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare a 9x13 inch baking pan by greasing and dusting it with flour.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  4. Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan.
  5. Crumble the cooled cake into a large bowl and mix in the chocolate frosting until well combined.
  6. Shape the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. Insert lollipop sticks into each ball and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  8. Melt the chocolate chips with the tablespoon of vegetable oil in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 30-second intervals until smooth.
  9. Dip each cake pop into the melted chocolate, letting excess chocolate drip off, then place back on the parchment-lined sheet.
  10. Allow the cake pops to set at room temperature or refrigerate until the chocolate coating is firm.
