For the Subs
  • 4 each Sub Rolls Italian or French rolls, toasted

Method
 

Meatball Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, and seasonings. Mix gently and let rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Shape the mixture into 1.5-inch meatballs and place on a baking tray.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, add oil and brown the meatballs for 3-4 minutes on each side.
  4. Deglaze the skillet with bourbon and add BBQ sauce. Simmer for 6-8 minutes.
Roll Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice sub rolls and toast them in the oven for 5-7 minutes.
Assembly
  1. Place meatballs in the toasted rolls, top with cheddar cheese and bacon.
  2. Broil assembled subs for 1-2 minutes until cheese is melted.
