Description

A refreshing summer drink made with fresh strawberries, perfect for hot days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh strawberries and lime slices for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the sliced strawberries, sugar, and lime juice. Blend until smooth.
  2. Strain the strawberry mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove the seeds and pulp.
  3. Add the cold water to the pitcher and stir well to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary.
  4. Chill the agua fresca in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Serve over ice in glasses, garnished with fresh strawberries and lime slices if desired.

Notes

  • For a refreshing twist, add a handful of fresh mint leaves while blending.
  • Substitute half of the strawberries with watermelon for a delicious watermelon-strawberry agua fresca.
