Description
Smashed Cheeseburger Tacos are a fun and delicious twist on traditional tacos, featuring crispy beef, cheese, and fresh toppings wrapped in a soft tortilla.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 large flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
- 1 medium avocado, sliced
- 1/2 cup sliced jalapeños
- 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Instructions
- Begin by heating the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the ground beef and break it up with a wooden spoon. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until the beef is well-browned, about 6-8 minutes.
- Once the beef is cooked through, press it down with the spoon to create a crispy layer, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- While the beef is cooking, warm the large flour tortillas in a separate pan or in the microwave until they are soft and flexible.
- To create the wraps, place a generous portion of the crispy beef in the center of each tortilla.
- Layer on the Monterey Jack cheese, shredded lettuce, avocado slices, and jalapeños.
- Drizzle barbecue sauce over the filling, then carefully fold the sides of the tortilla inwards and roll it up tightly to form a wrap.
- For added crispiness, return the wraps to the skillet and cook on each side for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- Feel free to customize the toppings based on your preferences.
- These wraps can be served with additional barbecue sauce for dipping.
- For a spicier kick, add more jalapeños or hot sauce.
