- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup finely diced onion
- 1/2 cup diced zucchini
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a spacious bowl, mix together the ground turkey, seasoned breadcrumbs, mozzarella cheese, diced onion, zucchini, minced garlic, chicken broth, egg, soy sauce, thyme, sea salt, and black pepper until thoroughly blended.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased baking dish.
- Generously coat the top with barbecue sauce.
- Bake for approximately 50-60 minutes, or until the center reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Allow the loaf to cool for about 10 minutes before slicing into portions.
Notes
- Enhance the flavor by adding 1/4 cup of chopped sun-dried tomatoes or olives.
- For a twist, swap the ground turkey with ground lamb or pork for a richer taste.
