- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon avocado oil
Instructions
- Begin by setting your oven to 400°F (200°C) and preparing a baking tray with parchment paper or a light coating of oil.
- In a spacious bowl, mix together the ground turkey, panko breadcrumbs, mozzarella cheese, basil, egg, minced garlic, garlic powder, thyme, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper if you like a bit of heat. Stir until everything is well incorporated, being careful not to overwork the mixture.
- Shape the mixture into small balls, roughly 1 to 1.5 inches in size, and arrange them on the prepared baking tray.
- Drizzle the avocado oil over the meatballs to enhance browning during baking.
- Place the tray in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the meatballs are fully cooked and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- While the meatballs are baking, warm the tomato sauce in a saucepan over medium heat. Once the meatballs are ready, gently transfer them into the sauce and let them simmer together for about 5-10 minutes to meld the flavors.
