Description
A refreshing and fruity drink made with fresh strawberries, perfect for hot summer days.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 4 cups cold water
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice (optional)
- Ice cubes
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a blender, combine the sliced strawberries, 2 cups of cold water, and sugar. Blend until smooth.
- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove the seeds and pulp. Use a spatula to press the mixture for maximum juice extraction.
- Add the remaining 2 cups of cold water and lime juice to the pitcher, stirring well to combine.
- Taste the agua fresca and adjust sweetness if needed by adding more sugar.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
- Serve over ice and garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
Notes
- For a twist, add a few slices of cucumber or a handful of basil leaves to the blender for a refreshing herbal flavor.
- Substitute honey or agave syrup for sugar for a natural sweetener option.
