Description

A refreshing and fruity drink made with fresh strawberries, perfect for hot summer days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice (optional)
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the sliced strawberries, 2 cups of cold water, and sugar. Blend until smooth.
  2. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove the seeds and pulp. Use a spatula to press the mixture for maximum juice extraction.
  3. Add the remaining 2 cups of cold water and lime juice to the pitcher, stirring well to combine.
  4. Taste the agua fresca and adjust sweetness if needed by adding more sugar.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  6. Serve over ice and garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.

Notes

  • For a twist, add a few slices of cucumber or a handful of basil leaves to the blender for a refreshing herbal flavor.
  • Substitute honey or agave syrup for sugar for a natural sweetener option.
