- 3 pounds assorted chicken cuts (legs, thighs, or breasts)
- 1 cup of your preferred barbecue sauce
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, sea salt, black pepper, and apple cider vinegar to create a marinade.
- Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Marinate for at least 30 minutes or refrigerate for up to 4 hours.
- Arrange the marinated chicken on the lined baking sheet, skin-side up, and brush half of the barbecue sauce over the chicken.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- In the last 10 minutes of baking, apply the remaining barbecue sauce to the chicken.
- Remove from the oven and let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For an added kick, mix in a teaspoon of cayenne pepper into the marinade.
- You can create your own barbecue sauce using a blend of ketchup, brown sugar, and vinegar for a unique twist.
