- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F/45°C)
- 3 1/2 to 4 cups bread flour
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
- 1/4 cup sliced bell peppers
- 1/4 cup sliced onions
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
Instructions
- In a small bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it stand until creamy, about 10 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, olive oil, salt, and the yeast mixture; stir well to combine. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until smooth, about 8 minutes.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm area until doubled in volume, about 1 hour.
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and roll into a round shape. Transfer to a lightly greased pizza pan or baking sheet.
- Spread the tomato sauce over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, bell peppers, and onions.
- Sprinkle oregano and basil over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly, about 12 to 15 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before slicing and serving.

- For a crispier crust, pre-bake the dough for 5 minutes before adding toppings.
