- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 cups French onion soup
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh thyme for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
- In a large oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the chicken breasts and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, pour in the French onion soup and bring to a simmer.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning some of the soup over the top.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella and Gruyère cheese evenly over the chicken.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with fresh thyme before serving, if desired.
