- 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, thyme, sea salt, and black pepper.
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels.
- Arrange the chicken in a baking dish and drizzle olive oil over the top.
- Sprinkle the spice mixture generously on both sides of the chicken.
- If desired, add a splash of lemon juice.
- Place the dish in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
- Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for about 5 minutes before slicing or serving.
Notes
- For a more intense flavor, consider marinating the chicken in the olive oil and spice blend for at least 30 minutes prior to baking.
- Fresh herbs like rosemary or basil can also be added for a unique twist.
