Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups frozen shredded hashbrowns, thawed
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Cooking spray or oil for the waffle maker
Instructions
- Preheat your waffle maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Lightly grease it with cooking spray or oil.

- Scoop about 1/2 cup of the mixture and place it in the center of the preheated waffle maker. Close the lid and cook for 4-5 minutes, or until the chaffle is golden brown and crispy.
- Carefully remove the chaffle and repeat the process with the remaining mixture, greasing the waffle maker as needed.
- Serve immediately with your favorite toppings, such as sour cream, salsa, or avocado.
Notes
- For a spicy kick, add diced jalapeños or a pinch of cayenne pepper to the mixture.
- Substitute the cheddar cheese with mozzarella or pepper jack for a different flavor profile.
