Description

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of multigrain bread
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 2 ounces of softened cream cheese
  • 1 cup of grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon of onion powder or chili flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Lightly toast the multigrain bread until golden.
  3. Mash the ripe avocado in a bowl and season with salt, pepper, and optional spices.
  4. Spread cream cheese on one side of each slice of toasted bread.
  5. On one slice, layer the mashed avocado and grated cheddar cheese.
  6. Top with the other slice of bread, cream cheese side down.
  7. Drizzle olive oil in the skillet and place the sandwich inside, pressing down slightly.
  8. Cook for 4-5 minutes until golden brown and cheese starts to ooze.
  9. Flip the sandwich and cook for another 4-5 minutes until both sides are toasted and cheese is melted.
  10. Remove from skillet, let rest for a minute, then slice in half to serve.
