Description
A savory and cheesy casserole made with turkey, broccoli, and rice, perfect for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups shredded or diced cooked turkey
- 4 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 1 cup cooked rice (white or brown)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional for topping)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional for greasing)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. If using olive oil, lightly coat a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix together the shredded turkey, broccoli florets, cooked rice, cheddar cheese, cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Pour the mixture into the greased baking dish, spreading it evenly across the bottom. If desired, sprinkle breadcrumbs over the top.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- After 25 minutes, remove the foil and continue baking for another 15 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbling and the top is golden brown.
- Allow the dish to rest for about 5 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, consider swapping the cream of mushroom soup for cream of chicken soup.
- Enhance the dish by adding cooked mushrooms or bell peppers.
