Description
A delicious and easy recipe for Brown Sugar Garlic Chicken that combines sweet and savory flavors.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 green onions, finely chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, ground ginger, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Stir until the mixture is smooth and the sugar has dissolved.
- Arrange the chicken thighs in a baking dish and pour the sauce over them, making sure each piece is thoroughly coated.
- Bake for approximately 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is tender and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Once done, take the dish out of the oven and allow the chicken to rest for about 5 minutes.
- Finish by sprinkling the chopped green onions on top before serving.
Notes
- For enhanced flavor, consider marinating the chicken in the sauce for at least 30 minutes or even overnight in the refrigerator prior to baking.
- You can swap chicken thighs for boneless, skinless chicken breasts for a healthier alternative, adjusting the cooking time as necessary.
