Description

A delicious and easy Beef Stroganoff recipe that combines ground beef, mushrooms, and a creamy sauce served over egg noodles.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in the sliced mushrooms, salt, black pepper, paprika, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook for an additional 5 minutes until the mushrooms are tender.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the beef broth and flour until smooth. Gradually add this mixture to the skillet, stirring to combine. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the sour cream until well combined. Do not let it boil.
  6. Meanwhile, cook the egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  7. Serve the beef stroganoff over the egg noodles and garnish with chopped parsley.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream.
