A simple and irresistible dessert made with ripe bananas and a crunchy crumble topping.

- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the mashed bananas, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until well blended.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, oats, brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined. If using, fold in the chopped nuts.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, try adding a teaspoon of nutmeg along with the cinnamon.
- You can also substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour for a healthier twist.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an indulgent dessert.
