Description
Baked Hot Honey Chicken is a sweet and spicy dish featuring tender chicken thighs coated in a flavorful hot honey glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds chicken thighs, bone-in and skin-on
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 cup hot honey (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for extra heat)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
- Add the chicken thighs to the bowl and rub the spice mixture all over the chicken, ensuring even coverage.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the hot honey, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, and Dijon mustard. If you like it spicier, add the red pepper flakes.
- Place the seasoned chicken thighs in a baking dish and pour the hot honey mixture over them, making sure they are well coated.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the skin is crispy.
- For an extra crispy finish, broil the chicken for an additional 2-3 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- For a healthier option, use skinless chicken thighs or chicken breasts.
- Serve with a side of roasted vegetables or a fresh salad to balance the meal.
