Description

Baked Cajun Salmon with Creamy Avocado Lime Sauce is a flavorful and healthy dish that combines perfectly seasoned salmon with a creamy avocado sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (6-ounce) salmon fillets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Rub the spice mixture evenly over the salmon fillets.
  4. Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  5. While the salmon is baking, prepare the creamy avocado lime sauce. In a medium bowl, mash the avocado with a fork until smooth.
  6. Add the Greek yogurt, lime juice, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and cilantro (if using) to the mashed avocado. Mix until well combined and creamy.
  7. Once the salmon is done, remove it from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Serve the salmon topped with the creamy avocado lime sauce.

Notes

  • For added flavor, you can marinate the salmon in the spice mixture for 30 minutes before baking.
  • If you prefer a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the spice mix.
  • Enjoy with a side of steamed vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
